Mai Bharai was Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s bhua (father’s sister). Guru Nanak Dev Ji used to stay at Mai Bharai’s house in Khadoor Sahib. He stayed here for at least 5 times during his life span. A Gurdwara is being constructed at the place where Mai Bharai used to live. This is one of the Gurdwaras consecrated by Guru Nanak Dev Ji and Guru Angad Dev Ji. It is located 100 meter west of Gurdwara Sri Darbar Sahib. After attaining Guruship, Guru Angad Dev Ji remained in the house of Mai Bharai. He only came out after Baba Buddha Ji suggested him to appear before sangat (devotees).
